Up and Coming Hip Hop Star Petey Popoff
For nearly 10 years, Petey Popoff has proven time after time that he has the talent and perseverance to be a legitimate force in the music industry. From songwriter, recording artist, producer to entrepreneur, Petey is truly an entertainer.
Petey burst onto the music scene at the young age of 14. Undeniably talented, Petey was picked up by the group Badd Influinz in 1996 and began to tour throughout the state of Texas with Lowrider Magazine and Tejano Tours Car Show Circuits. This opportunity allowed Petey to gain the experience by opening for major label acts like SPM and Kumbia Kings. From 1996 to late 2000, Petey made a name for himself with his powerful delivery and witty vernacular.
After accomplishing several successful tours, Petey ventured off on his own to build his own image and identity, starting from the ground zero. In an effort to expand, Petey founded his own record label, Interstate Entertainment, and formed the group known as High Society and its counterpart Chain Gang and launched the careers of Roc Carder, Chizzle Montana, and Young XL. Interstate Entertainment would see its first release and Petey’s first solo release, Truth Be Told in 2008 and was exclusively produced by Badd Influinz member D HitZ 007. The release gained a new measure of success for Petey and was followed by the mixtape releases Educated Gangsta Muzik and Brooklyn Bully Mixtape Volume 1 as well as Roc Carder’s debut mixtape, The Street’s Associate, in 2010.
Continuing to amaze the Hip Hop world and the music industry, 2011 would see the emergence of a completely new sound for Petey Popoff with the smash album release Make It Happen, produced by Young Breeze, and the first single “Get It In”. The new aged sound and emotionally charged lyrics gained Petey the attention of the world and continues to attract fans of all demographics. 2011 would also see Petey Popoff return to San Antonio, Texas and the reunion of Badd Influinz.
Most recently Petey Popoff has announced the release of a new album titled Full Circle, which is set to be released in the fall of 2012. Fans can also see Petey perform live every first Saturday at Kick butt Coffee in Austin, TX where Petey hosts a Hip Hop showcase in an attempt to give back to the Hip hop community that has continued to embrace him.
